Mixed HK MR223A3 questions

Hi folk. I have been searching all over the web, maybe my google-fu sucks, but I simply can't find anything that confirms if the HK MR223 are capable of shooting higher pressure 5.56 NATO. Anyone in here know this for sure?

The HK website indicates the barrels on HK MR223 are now chrome lined. But when I search around the web from actual buyers it looks like the barrel is non-chrome lined. So what is it with or without chrome for 2015-2016?

And last, does Magpul's magazines, stocks and grips work with HK MR223A3?

Thanks folks!

Yes, they are designed for the NATO .556 round. European .223 is not designated by the same standard as the US .223. Search the forums, you will find threads that explain it in more detail.

Can't answer your other 2 questions, but use the search function here, I'm sure you'll find your answers.

Happy New Year,

David

C.I.P. proofed .223 rem guns must meet C.I.P. specifications. Incidentally it exactly same as 5.56 NATO specification. All German made HK guns are C.I.P. compliant.

Copy paste from a member in here...

-HK416 (no firing pin spring or firing pin safety)
-HK416A1 (firing pin spring and firing pin safety introduced, only left side receiver recess for charging handle)
-HK416A2 (Over The Beach (OTB) barrels)
-HK416A3 (otherwise known as the Norwegian variant, captive cotter pin on bolt carrier to prevent its loss in the field, safety engagement regardless of the hammer position, protective bridge over the disconnector and a unique to that country's weapon gas regulator and taller flip up sights for use with their top mounted laser designator)
-HK416A4 (not covered)
-HK416A5 (the pinnacle, covered later in this post) --->The MR223A3 is born from this I suppose. Everything ambi, continous rail and chromed lined barrels.

MR223A1 is civilian variant of HK416A3, while MR223A3 is variant of HK416A5. Additionally MR223A1 has locking receiver pins and non-lined barrel, while MR223A3 has chrome lined barrel and standard receiver pins.

Thanks for the info. Are the MR223A3 parts interchangeable with the A1? I wouldn't mind changing out the receiver pins at some point and having the option for a chrome lined barrel.

I shot mine for the 1st time this morning and sighted in my ACOG. I'm liking it so far and it is much easier to clean than a gas AR. :)

Yes, they are. HK locking pins fit any standard AR15 and standard AR15 pins fit any MR223.
