very cool, waiting for the hk mr 223 a5/a6 a7

 

Can't find an English version, but here's what I gather:

• Grey finish
• Side charging handle option
• MLok handguard
• QD sling points
• 45° selector lever
• Adjustable gas block
• M110/SR25 pattern magazines (!)

I don't know if these features will ever come to the American commercial market, but it would be cool if they did, especially those last two.

Don't hold your breath just yet.

HK applied for an BKA Notice of Assessment in 2020, got it approved early 2021 and even this year they still only show them in the back rooms at the exhibitions they bring the few prototypes they have to. Roth's article from early this year was the first (semi) public presentation they did for the MR308A5/A6.

I wouldn't expect any availability this year and most probably not next year as well - in Europe that is, not to mention the US market. We'll see.

HK just got clearance from German BKA for Version A4 A5 and A6 of the MR308. Similar changes as for the MR223, adjustable gas block for A4, inclined Rail for A5 and side charging handle for A6. and da Version in 6,5Creedmoor is also coming.

Seems to be following a similar aesthetic to SIG‘s latest rifles.

 

all already BKA approved, I follow the mr223 A4 5 and 6 since 2020, no news insight, no official reveal, let's see, I'm happy if hk release those versions in 2024, but hk is not clear as always.

 

If those handguards are quick-release(as they appear to be), and fit the current MR762/HK417, they really need to release them to the American market.

I've got mixed feelings about the choice of mags.

I need a new waffen. Dammit HK, send these over with real chrome lined barrels please. I want the MR223 A5/7 version as well.

 

I don't care for side charging and ambi mag release is a total deal breaker personally.

Well, it would be a deal breaker if I ever find a placard for 417 mags which will engage my ambi mag release randomly as I walk along. Other than that I don't even want SR25 mags, the HK ones are better everything else considered.
