Hello everyone,

I purchased an H&K MR556 upper in late 2020. I backordered the Geissele MR556 trigger from Opticsplanet and have been waiting for it ever since. Opticsplanet ETAs show crazy dates though, so I emailed Geissele. They said they have no estimated ETA when it will be available.

Now I'm looking for the best H&K MR556 trigger that can be currently purchased.

I've heard good things about the Wilson Combat TR-TTU-3G, but some people say it's a single action and some people say it's a double action. If anyone can clear that up it'd be great.

What are your recommendations? I prefer double actions but am open to either.

Thanks!

there is a sticky thread in the 416/417 forum that has all the triggers that would work with the fire pin safety, I went thru the list and was going to order several triggers, geisselle out of stock $400, Wilson combat was around $200, but a lot of the guys were bragging on the ALG defense ACT trigger, it’s $79, so I ordered a few of those Yesterday , in Stock, But the thread is worth reading before you buy something

I run Wilson Combat TR-TTU-H2 Paul Howe triggers in all my AR's, so I have the same trigger everywhere.

It's a drop-in two stage, short take up and crisp break. Very nice.

I tried their TR-TTU-M2 and it was too light for me.

You can get WC triggers for $138 (from BattleHawkArmory or LockedLoaded)

Here's a short video about their triggers:

I haven't tried WC TTU-3G yet, but this is how they describe it:

Wilson Combat engineers have enhanced the TTU-3G trigger with a smooth, rolling, creep-free break that is ideal for shooting rapid double-taps on the move from your high-performance AR-15.

The pull breaks with the extreme smoothness of finely tuned target-pistol trigger and has tactile feedback that gives a shooter the confidence to prep the trigger face during quick target transitions. The TTU-3G also has an enhanced, lightning-fast trigger reset that will make fast follow up shots a breeze and eliminate "trigger freeze" during the heat of competition or tactical shooting.

Perhaps @ryandarr1979 and others who own them could chime in a little more.

You said it all above. It’s very smooth, light, crisp/positive, short reset, and great for quick follow up shots. I was initially surprised by how light the pull was. I know WC says 3.5-4 lbs but it’s so smooth that it feels lighter than that.

You can’t go wrong with Geisselle triggers IMO. Yes, they’re pricey, but they just make a hell of a trigger! I’ve ran or currently run the high speed national match, dmr, ssa, sd-e, sd3g, and will be putting an ssp in a 10.5” pistol build. I still enjoy running others like the Hiperfire 24c, Timney, etc... but Geisselle is always my first choice.
