In addition to nylon, the P30L utilizes a large metal buffer. Whereas the P30 only uses a small nylon buffer.

I'm assuming that's what dieter9mm was referencing.

I have the VP9 and P30L.
The VP9 makes even me a good shooter however I like shooting the P30L.
The VP9 isn't hard to shoot or anything just personal preference.
I thought the P30L looked a little long but it's not.

All my HK's are without safety.

Choose the P30 thinking it had the advantage for concealed carry.
And I'm sure some carry the P30 with no troubles.
But I found it a little too large for that.
Love the P30.
But if I had it to do all over again?
I'd go for the P30L.

Well thanks to everyone who voted. Even though P30L was by far the leader-I held both and still prefer the P30 so thats what I got. Just picked her up today and she's great. The DA is heavy but smooth and much nicer than I recall from previous models I've handled/owned. Its actually nicer trigger than my new 45c I think. Anyway, since theres the mag promo theres a chance I may just pick up a P30L too anyway!

The DA is heavy but smooth and much nicer than I recall from previous models I've handled/owned.

Good call on the pistol. 12 or even 10 lbs mainspring will go a long way to get that DA pull better.

Don't have a HK45 but I do have a 45C.

Then the P30 should fit into that. My Raven HK45 holster fits my P30L well.

P30 vs P30L is all about personal preference - the only differences are slightly different handling/recoil characteristics, so you made the right choice in getting the one that appealed to you most. You'll try the other one later, I'm sure

As was mentioned, two springs you want are the light FPB spring and 10# hammer spring. I use that set up in my 3 P series pistols and have never had a primer to ignite. I used a few hundred rounds of ammo through each I know to have extra hard primers. Never had a failure and my Glocks have 2-6/50 or so ftfire. My P2000 has the best teigger but probably because it has more rds. through it. Enjoy! I have a P30L and am getting a P30 also.

I just converted my p30L V3 to a p30L LEM V1 and it is amazing for completion shooting it really improved my scores. It is all about what you want the pistol for and decide from there.
