I am not worried about the optic cut, I wasn't planning on adding a RDS to it. I was concerned that it may be some weird variant since I could find much info about the PN#. It was to good pass up with the $200 rebate, I paid a good bit more for my first VP9 several years ago.

 

Some things to consider/confirm prior to purchase.
Websites usually have a disclaimer on having accurate pic/PN shown. The pic has Meprolight sights of the former LE SKU, with x3 15rd mags.
Which sights and mags does it have, $5 + $2 rebate great deal altogether.

Owned a vanilla VP9 and purchased an OEM HK complete 5" Long Slide for it
Very sweet, but now I've got a second slide with no frame...
So I bought a VP9 FDE lower from TWL Enterprises for my standard VP9 slide.
The FDE Frankenstein gun is a tack driver
I'd buy that that gun with confidence

 

My soon to be SIL showed up for dinner tonight with his new P2000 V2 .40 he grabbed from PSA for $499, great deal I think, even with the three 10 round magazines.

Thanks for the info, was yours the same PN# as the PSA item and is their description accurate? Some say it comes with 3-15 round mags, but the description states 2-17 round.

Can you or anyone else who has bought this from PSA confirm that this model has the Meprolight Night Sights? I am looking for this model only if it has the Meprolights (call me old school), though the new XS sights are awesome also and I highly recommend them in general for new models moving forward they are great.

 

If the price is right, I would take 3x 15rd mags over 2x 17rd mags. Then again, I already have plenty of both.

 

My first VP9 came with 15 round mags and I picked up the 17 round conversion kits from the HK webstore and converted them to 17 round mags. The kits were pretty cheap if I remember correctly.

 

That's a great deal considering the rebate! I've been looking at that as well.

 

I wonder what the difference is between these two? Specs look the same as well as the image.

@Barth You are correct. It looks like the $30 is for a 3rd mag based on the part number.

 

Wish I did not see this post. I just ordered the grey VP9 from Palmetto.

 

I need to verify the FDE actually has NS!!!
If not it looks like the grey VP9 does have NS for $30 more.
I bought gift certificates for my grandson and need to verify which to order?

Yes the FDE one has night sights...just received mine today.

 

I contacted HK and they told me they are same pistol, the only difference is the new PN#81000226 has three 17 round mags vs the two mags for the 81000952 PN#.

 

This is what you'll see over the top of the FDE model with part number ending in 952:

 

Couldn't wait any longer and canceled the gift certificates.
Too worried the sale would end or the VP9s would be sold out.
