PTR A2 Stock Buttpad is Glued On

It appears that the buttpad on the PTR91 stock is glued in place. Has anyone ever removed the buttpad from a PTR stock and replaced it with the std snap-in buttpad?

Never heard of it being done but I don't think there's a good reason to. The snap-in pad won't work with the US made butt because the bushings it snaps onto are not there. Hence the reason the factory pads are glued on.

If the pad can't be removed, can the stock be removed?

I've never seen a PTR butt pad glued on. And I've had many in my hands. All us made stocks have been clamp on pads. They are very tight, clamp the butt pad in a vice and pull tight. Sure it's glued? Is this new?

You aren't confused, those 2 are the screws I was talking about. I wasn't clear. It never occured to me that anyone would use just those 2 screws to hold it on. I always figured that the big screw was the strong point.

Me and that big screw have a history. Back in my newbie days when I was fresh on the HK teat I fought with one of those stocks for a half hour before I discovered the butt plate actually did come off and that there was a screw behind it. This was darn near pre-internet days, HKpro must have been an infant, Hesse was the only option for G3 receiver, and I had just aquired my first HK type. Those were the days. I don't even think SW had anything more than a cast prototype at the time and the clone industry was just a gleam in TB's eyes.
That reminds me. To those that make this board happen, thank you. This place is a most valuable source of info and without it many of us would be a lot less HK smart.
