Not that I know of, but quiet is a relative term. You can make a SIG decocker quiet by pressing and holding to catch and hang the hammer then slowly releasing. The Beretta decocking safety is just going to be louder. Same with the p30 decocker.

 

Many guns with frame mounted lever type decockers work exactly like the MK23. SIGs, Walther P5, HK P9S, CZ99. Essentially, they don't just release the sear but control the hammer as long as you keep pressure on the lever. (To be precise, the P9S doesn't even release the sear but just controls the hammer.)

Frame mounted sear trip type decockers release the sear and let the hammer fall with full force into a hammer intercept. Slide mounted decockers trip the sear and retract the firing pin instead of intercepting the hammer.

You can safely decock any hammer fired gun silently by restraining the hammer before pushing and holding the decocker down and then lowering the hammer slowly. But it generally takes two hands.

What do you mean? I just listed several.

I'll bet the request was an effort to keep what they already had with the P9S and P226.

 

I have not seen the type/style of decocking lever the MK23 has on any other HK or any other hand gun. I think Tony answered my question.

What type/style of decocking lever are you talking about, specifically? I'm decocking my P9S perfectly silently right now, so what is it you are looking for?

 

If you look at a Mark 23 you will see the "silent decocking lever is different. I was curious to know if that style of decocking lever is unique to Mark 23. It appears to be unique to the Mark 23. I understand decocking devices/levers work about the same. The physical style of the Mark 23 decocking lever looks to be unique.

 

The whole pistol is unique, and every part on it unique to the MK23 - they don't fit on any other gun. But what specific aspect of the MK23 decocker are you looking for? The shape, location, size, placement?

 

Thanks Handy I was just curios I have never seen a safety decocker like the MK23 has.. I think the MK 23 is a very unique pistol. I hope to own one.
