Question - HK93 / HK33 / HK53 magazines and makers

I was wondering what all has been manufactured for magazines for the 93 / 53 / 33 series of guns. I think I know Pretty much all the types and sizes, but my big questions was has MKE or POF ever made metal mags, in 20, 25, or 30 round? Or any other contract metal mags?

Here is what I can think of, in terms of what has been made and who made it:

HK: metal mags in 20 round, 25 round, and 30 round
MKE: smoked brown plastic mags in I think just 30 round?
Malaysian contract (did the Malaysian Govt. actually make these, or someone else?): aluminum 40 round mags
ProMag: plastic 20 round, 30 round, and 40 round

I am not talking about drums, just the standard rifle mags. Thanks!

From this thread/post: http://www.hkpro.com/forum/hk-talk/124564-hk93-mags.html#post917241

This was from 2010 so ignore the pricing.

20's - guaranteed. There were never produced any 15-round mags for the HK33 series.

Correctly, then: 5's, 20's, 25's, 30's, 40's, and 100-round BetaCo mags, of course.

5's - aluminum, factory HK, date coded - somewhat rare, and the last I saw sold for $100
20's - aluminum, factory HK, date coded - less common, and sell for $100+
25's - steel, factory HK - date coded, some will be found with factory camo paint which flakes easily, and may have LE-Only markings, most are parkerized and will have a grey-ish finish - common, normally sell at $65/ea, more for camo versions
30's - steel, factory HK - date coded, 'Made in Germany', and occasionally with LE-Only markings inscribed on the mag well section, black finished - sell at $75-85 new.
40's - aluminum or steel, MCP manufactured, or unmarked HK tooling - followers will have "(month)/74" marking on them, aluminum have black painted finish, no other markings. Steel 40's will have a parkerized grey finish, no other markings (other than follower). Common, and sell for anywhere from $20 for surplus dinged-up mags imported with parts kits, to $40 for steel variants.
100's - US-made BetaCo magazines with HK33 feed towers. Non-factory, but listed here as they are a viable mag option. Normally sell for $270-300 with mag pouch, graphite, personal loader (5-rounds at a time), and spare feed tower.

All of these magazines have proven extremely reliable in my guns, largely due to the factory design using the lug on the trunnion to locate the feed section of the magazine properly. Aluminum mags are amazingly lightweight for their size and construction, though seem to ding easily, along with poor painted finish. Factory steel 25's tend to develop surface rush quickly in any kind of humid environment. HTH,

Thanks Maim. I didn't use the search function as I figured those keywords were just so common that it'd make it impossible to sort through so many results.

The 20 or 25 round mags are what I was most curious about, in terms of there possibly being others out there, like MKE, which were metal.

Sounds like the list I have and the one from 2010 have it all covered then.

No worries, I just saw that you didn't have the 5-round mags in your list and that is what I searched on. I definitely wasn't posting a "did you use the search function??? HMMM?????" reply   because that response annoys the he!! out of me.

But yes in the 20 through 40 round mag range you've got everything that I have ever seen. Unless you want to include the 20 round Harrington & Richardson steel magazine.

I have seen 30 round steel mags that were not factory HK, but I don't know who made them, they had crude caliber markings. Also, the steel 40 round mags came in a light grey and a dark grey (almost black) parkerized finish. The steel 30 round mags came with a grey parkerized finish, or an HK black finish over the grey parkerized finish. The 25 round mags can be found with LEO markings on the top of them. The 30 round steel mags can be found with LEO markings at the top of the mag (hidden when inserted in the weapon) and along the side (always visible). The five round magazines cane in both steel and aluminum.
