The HK45c group buy was indeed RAL 8000. It's written on the side of the boxes in the picture that SG posted when he received them.

 

besides Ral 8000 what is the other color they use that is like a FDE or bronze, I received my RAL 8000 today, anyone know?

No one answered my Question...lol., if you look at the G28 and HK416A5 and all the other parts coming painted from HK lately, what is the name of the other darker color they are using?

 

Cerakote H-148 Burnt Bronze perhaps?

I think only G28 steel upper are painted with RAL8000. Aluminum parts are anodized, plastic parts color are mold-in. I also have sample of CeraKote RAL8000, it matches my SB scope's RAL8000 exactly. I think it will be difficult to color match anodized and mold-in color to exactly as paint color.

 

This man knows what he says. The clear anodized parts, which causes the bronzed color can really change from batch to batch. It also varies according to the elements in the base metal/aluminum and can be affected by whatever pretreatment may be used and/or if it had to be stripped of a previous coating (paint, anodizing, etc... ).

What's the color code for the earth brown they're using along with RAL?

 

I Cerakote the pistol grip and floor plate with RAL8000.

Anyone else done anymore cerakoting on their MR's? Does the burnt bronze match the HK anodizing pretty close? It looks like it should.

Has anyone been able to re-engrave the logos and letters on the receivers after cerakoting or are they engraved deep enough to rub paint into after to re-highlight the text and logos?

 

According to the HK catalog that you can download from the HK web sight, the colors on the HK416A5 and the G28 is rail 8000 Brown/green and ral 8000 tan.

Very nice! If memory serves, I believe someone tried hydro-dipping the floorplates in RAL8000 and it didn't turn out well.

The thought just occurred to me - HK45c + Cerakote = Non 'HKPro' marked group buy 45c...
