There are many sold by DTT in circulation that have the select fire switch. They seem to be very reliable. Has he tried it in a quality AR with an H2 or H3 Buffer?
Don't know what ar brand it is but it was .300 blk. Not sure if that would make any difference in reliability.
There are so many variables to getting FRTs to work in gas guns, it's crazy. Suppressed, unsuppressed, barrel length, gas port size, buffer tube size, type of spring, weight of buffer, caliber, etc...

I'll say that I've got 5.56 and 300BO running just fine.

5.56 is 11.5", 5.1oz buffer, red SpringCo spring.

300BO is 10.5", 2.9oz buffer, OEM spring.

EDIT -- and RBT can sit on a thorny branch and spin. 🖕

This is like the Poly 80 80% glock clone receivers.
As long as you bought it using a credit card, there's a record of your purchase.
As long as you had it shipped to your house, UPS, FEDEX, DHL or USPS have and retain shipping records.
Sure, they are tacticool an' all and kinda neet, but I figure that if we don't retain the White House in 2028, expect the Dems to outlaw them within the first 100 days of the new regime. AND... they will be knocking on doors.

Buy a boat... at least you'll have a reasonable excuse.

No doubt, future anti-gun administrations will likely try and outlaw Force Reset Triggers (FRTs).

However, I don't think it will be easy for them just to declare them as Machine Gun Conversion Devices (MCDs) like they did with Rare Breed. I believe that it will require Congress to pass a new law based upon recent Chevron deference Supreme Court rulings and the Federal court vacating the ATF's classification of Forced Reset Triggers (FRTs) as "machineguns" in July 2024 (Federal Court Ruling). In that case, the judge found that this classification was unlawful and beyond the scope of the ATF's authority. Perhaps more importantly, the DOJ / Rare Breed settlement in May 2025 explicitly stated the conditions by which an FRT is legal (DOJ FRT Settlement) :

(1) the FRT is forcibly reset to its forward reset state after each round fired;
(2) the FRT is locked mechanically in its reset state preventing the trigger from moving until the firearm is safe to fire;
(3) the hammer must be released from its sear surface for every round fired;
(4) the trigger in an FRT-equipped firearm must reset after every round fired; and
(5) preventing the reset will cause the weapon to malfunction.

If Congress does decide to make FRTs NFA items, I suspect (hope?) they will grandfather in current owners and allow them to register them tax free like the pistol brace fiasco.

Just my opinion, and you know what opinions are like ;)

Yeah the way I look at it this is the real reason they wanted RB to enforce the patent really hard. So they had a single source to go to when they wanted a "list". Even if you bought it with crypto, if you had it shipped by usps from some of these others sites they can get the post office to give records (they photograph all the mail, you can even sign up for this service yourself to view your mail).

I have the AS Design FRT and AR housing on order.
It will ship on 6/30.
They have done some design changes.
By all research I could find, it is supposed to be best of breed for HK.
I will report back when I test it in my 34.

Latest from ASD as of today:

Good afternoon Raymond,

Your order is part of batch 2 with a current ETA of 7/25 to our warehouse from the machining/coating shops. The machine shop experienced a machine crash during production and has delayed production, we are doing our best to expedite the production.

Basically the one that they are selling now is a bunch that they got from a copyright infringement case. And are the same but have the selector and pins. And I’ve been told that you don’t have to install the pins or selector for it to work. I need to clarify my comment from earlier. The fry I was referring to is the one for the AR15 platform. My apologies.

Correct. Some states clearly ban FRTs (e.g., CA, CT, DE, HI, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, RI, WA, and DC). Some states have laws that are not as clear (e.g., FL) but are being interpreted as banning FRTs. Before purchasing a FRT make sure they are legal in your jurisdiction. Always be safe and responsible when shooting. Please respect your ranges policies. While many ranges allow FA (and FRTs), some do not. Please help educate those who have not shot FA but have an FRT on the importance of safety and controlling their firearm.

Florida statute 790.222

"... As used in this section, the term “bump-fire stock” means a conversion kit, a tool, an accessory, or a device used to alter the rate of fire of a firearm to mimic automatic weapon fire or which is used to increase the rate of fire to a faster rate than is possible for a person to fire such semiautomatic firearm unassisted by a kit, a tool, an accessory, or a device."
