So I got my 6 - 30's today. They fit my IH HK94/MP5 conversion and seat a little tight but work fine in full-auto and suppressed. They will not lock up in my KA SP89/MP5K conversion. Looks like I'll need to do some mods to make them seat in all the way. They're also too tight and will not fit either of my HK mag loaders.

At $22.95, I still say they're worth the price of admission, especially in this crazy election season.

Well, got mine. Seem to be ridged, threw them on the ground from mag change height. Dont get the feeling they will break. I really like the window, I get a real P Mag feel from them. ++.

Things to note. Very tight in my BG date code SP5k. I remedied this by inserting and removing them about 20 times each into the magwell. Then I very lightly sanded all 4 corners and the front portion with 400 grit sandpaper. I then wiped them down with a VERY light layer of CLP. They slide in and out very nicely now. I expect them to run fine at the range, but we will see.

@ghilliebear2000 was spot on with the sanding and description/recommendation of the AC Unity magazines! I have two PCS builds I tested the magazines in for fitment and function, as well as a friend with his fresh-out-of-the-box HK SP5. I'm hoping my MP5F build will render the same results!

Out of the three AC Unity mags I purchased it felt like Goldilocks and the Three Bears: one magazine wouldn't lock up at all, one was very tight, and the last was just right straight out of the package. Unsure why there was a variation, but nothing that couldn't be fixed.

Little sanding on the pad of each magazine left me with three magazines I'm very satisfied (equalized fitment on each). I used a few HK magazines I had on hand to ensure the AC Unity magazines were just as easy to get locked up and check fitment. One thing I learned in the process is one of my magazine wells has an uneven seam that results in the AC Unity magazines being tighter in it that the other :/

I've only had a chance to quick fire 10 rounds through each magazine but they worked flawlessly (hard times for ammo). I anticipate purchasing six (6) more AC Unity magazines soon, perfect for the range and taking down varmints.

I hope the pictures and video in the link below help those to: see the magazines once sanded, wear pattern/tension location identified during fitment, and add to the report another success story. The video was a pain to take but shows each magazine being tested with no excessive force/issue. Link to photos/video:

Follow-up: Got my 40s this week. They actually are not as tight as the 30s, fit okay in my MP5, and fit perfect in my Coharie.

Will shoot in match in two weeks and see how they work.

I figured I would add a supplement to those researching the AC Unity magazines and wondering what reloaders will work...or for others with the magazines looking for a solution. Reloaders tested were HK (including unloader), Lula, Safariland, and Rapid Loader. The results are in the photos, green for good to go and red for no go.

I have two plans for the future with #1 being the targeted goal:
  1. Lightly blast the AC Unity magazine to allow the HK loader to work as intended
  2. Design a loader intended for 3D printing that will work in the manner of the HK

Extremely tight fit in factory post sample. Needs 2 hands to remove (one to pull magazine, other to push gun away).
Is this with or without sanding down the front "fitment" pad? I'm planning to lightly blast one magazine tonight in an effort to have a more universal fit for all reloaders and magwells.

Just received 4 and they are basically no-go without some work. My SP5 is a mid-400 serial range and has a nice, tight magwell with very solid mag lockup and zero issues with steel mags (HK, POF, KCI Gen 2).

Mags 1 & 2: Extremely tight, stop around 5/16" to 3/8" short of full insertion, fitment pad just starting to enter the magwell. Extremely hard to pull back out.
Mags 3 & 4: Extreme to very tight to insert, will insert what appears to be pretty close to full insertion but, will not lock up. Extreme to very hard to pull back out.

I'll probably play with one of the mags that are close to full insertion to see if i can get one to work. Just bought some additional KCI Gen 2 mags, IMO would have rather bought three more of those instead of 4 of these.

Will report back when I have time to play with one.

I got 6 40 rounders to use for sub gun comps, they were tight as expected in all of my genuine HK and MKE guns but fit without any excessive force. I took one and VERY lightly adjusted the pad and then took a medium scotch brite pad to the top and sides of the mag to break all of the hard edges including the pad. I then used a plastic release agent to get rid of embedded residue (a scrub brush and gun oil will do if you dont have any). I then cleaned it up and you cant even really tell it was even touched other than the light normal insertion marks and drag from the mag catch. They inserted freely and much better after this treatment on both an open and closed bolt in all my guns.

I have not run them yet but I don't expect any issue as I was able to easily hand cycle a loaded mag. I was also able to use my lula mp5 mag loader without issue to load the mag.

I will buy quite a few more if they run as I expect them to as you can never have too many mags.

I cannot for the life of me remember where someone commented regarding mag couplers that would not work for these magazines and not having a solution. Regardless, for those wondering the FAB Defense/TAC LTD MP5 magazine coupler (Part Number TZ-MP5) will work with the AC Unity magazines! Photos attached to this post as a reference. In the coming days, I plan to 3D print a mag coupler with a slightly smaller profile for anyone that has a 3D printer capable of printing PETG.

Took 10 of the 30 rounders out for the first time this AM. They ran 100% in a mix of semi and FA fire in a TSC MP5F. Only issue is very tight in the mag well, but who cares when it’s just at the range.

I figured I would post here as well for those who are spreading up on the AC-Unity magazines and/or following this thread. I for one love the AC-Unity magazines, especially in damp Arkansas when using metal magazines in the brush is just begging for rust. I've recently come up with the first draft of a 3D printable reloader for use with the AC-Unity magazines if anyone is like me and has a 3D printer! I posted a few details in the thread linked below. Regardless of whether the files are made available or scrammed, I've nonetheless shown it is easy to design a reloader and make the AC-Unity magazines that much more enjoyable! 3D printed, AC-Unity & metal mag compatible MP5 reloader

No sanding, as is.

I am going to just use it and see if it eventually smooths out.
Well that would explain things :) Based on the material the magazines are made of I doubt it'll smooth out for a very, very long time.

You can easily sand the pad with a piece of sandpaper or go into your miss's nail supplies and use her polishing file ;) You'd be amazing the fitment just a few moments of work can achieve.

I finally had some time to play around with one of the mags. After about 15-20 minutes of multiple pass, careful sanding (using a 2 sided, thick/stiff emory nail board) followed by a wipe down with CLP on each pass, I've decided these are a no-go for me and not worth the effort. Apparently, I must have a very tight magwell on my SP5. For my SP5, it's much more than just sanding down the "fitment pad". I've had to work the fitment pad, "U" shaped bumpout/saddle on same side of fitment pad, all four sides and the 2 small "bumps" on the back side of the mag. After each pass, I payed attention to where I could see the mag rubbing on the magwell on insertion/extraction. I finally got the mag to insert far enough to lock up but, its still ridiculously tight. Additionally, the mag would insert and lock but, there was no normal rocking motion to the lock up, just a straight, difficult push in.

Have decided it's not worth the effort in my case since every steel mag (HK, POF & KCI Gen 2) I own inserts perfectly and locks up nice-and-tight. I will probably sell or trade these four off. I have a friend that has a Zenith so maybe I'll see if he's interested, depending upon how they work in his gun. If they ever release an AC Unity Gen 2 mag, I'll give those a try... Obviously, YMMV with these.

I have not been impressed with my AC unity 30 and 40 round magazines. I've tried using the 40 rounders, pretty much unreliable. Tried downloading them to 35 rounds, still not reliable. The 30s are better, but still not 100% reliable. Sorry I bought them and wish I could return them but I'm stuck with them. Someone want to give me $20 for each of them?

Aw man I am bummed to see that. I want to try a 40 rounder in my RL9K - Did you fit them at all or were they left stock?
