Has anyone tried this sight on their VP9/VP9SK? I like the reticle and can see myself getting one but the overhang may be a deal killer. I'm going to call HK and ask customer service what they think but the pictures of the sight show the front overhang to be substantial, maybe too much.

Any opinions/experience on the RMR HD glass quality compared to the older RMR type 2?

Or whether the overhang on the RMR HD would potentially make the front glass more susceptible to debris accumulation and scratching?

The front coating seems to scratch easily on the RMR type 2 in my limited experience. Although my experience is a statistically insignificant number of four Type 2s.

Saw that DragonHerder so now at that price I'm no longer interested. And that's for a red version not even green. I'm not crazy about sending my money to the CCP for their vast army (which Holosun supports big time) but the Trijicon price is over double the Holosun so too big to ignore.

Another factor is that SIG is starting to make competitive optics that are assembled in the USA, and still cheaper than Trijicon's. The Romeo X Enclosed Pro has a MAP of $530 for dot only, and $550 for circle dot, vs the new $774 of the RMR HD and RCR.

Trijicon fans tell themselves that they're 'made in the USA,' but that doesn't exclude foreign sourced content so long as there is a 'substantial transformation.' The lenses are in all likelihood coming from LOW in Japan, then surface coated in the USA. The LED emitters are almost certainly coming from Japan or South Korea, then put on circuit boards in the USA.

I picked up a Meprolight MPO-S rds and am just waiting for my CC9 to be delivered to my ffl. Once I get it mounted I'll give the Loctite 24 hours to cure and then hit the range. From holding it and just messing around with it I think I like it a little better than the Trijicon RM-09 I have mounted on either of my VP9's. Auto brightness adjust, shake awake, less of a blue tint to the glass which honestly doesn't bother me one way or the other and from everything I could find, made in Israel, but a part of SK Group, a South Korean multinational corporation. I got mine from Optics Planet for under $250. So, if you don't wanna pay Trijicon money, and want to get away from Holosun, there are other manufacturers and options out there.
