So, I recently sent my USP 45 to HK to have them install my match trigger kit. I got the gun back less than a week later - they were great to deal with. Now, while the trigger is definitely 'better', I still can't say it's a 'great trigger'. I've read so many rave reviews on the forum, I was wondering whether it's just my gun or whether the match trigger is just 'good'. I'd take my p7's trigger any day of the week over this. That shouldn't be the case if it's a 'match trigger', right?

'match' is a relative term as it applies to the USP standard (combat) trigger.
That being said my expert and tactical both have'match' triggers from the factory and the expert (less than 300rds) has a better trigger than my tactical (approx 3.5k rds). So your mileage may vary even with factory.

The trigger and mechanisms associated with it are so much different in a USP and P7 it isn't even really a fair comparison. The P7 has the best trigger of any semi with "match trigger" or without. If you are looking for semi auto with a trigger as nice as a p7 it is going to be a tough search. Now compare the Usp match trigger to any sig, S&w, Springfield, or glock and you will see it is pretty damn nice.

Did you only install the Match set up? I did the Match Hybrid on my USP Combat Competition with the light LEM and it's awesome. I agree that my P7 may have a better trigger but so does my Sig SRT.

I did find my trigger to get "better" after 500rds. However, the match set up does makes the USP a great all purpose pistol.

... And, like all current HK triggers, the match trigger gets better after LOTS of feeding (or dry fire practice)

I think that if you compare it to other Sa/Da pistols you will be pleased you upgraded. The single action pull is amazing in my opinion. I had a old beat down Usp that I put the trigger kit in and the combination of the worn parts and the new kit was amazing. I didn't appreciate it until I sold it. I still miss it.
