USP Elite Vs Match

Hi all, this is my first post here, though I've been reading these posts on and off for years. I've had a USP tactical in 9mm for a while, but I just ordered a USP Elite in 45, so thought I'd make a post while I wait.

So on to the topic:

So what do you think, is the USP Elite the new USP Match?
As I understand, the usp match was kind of designed for bullseye with the added barrel length, that o-ring (I think the match was the first o-ring USP), the trigger and sights. The Elite seems to do all that, but in a more efficient/modern way.

Do you agree? Or do you think the 2 guns have different roles.

I think very similar roles and your assessment of a more modern flavor for it are fair.
Some cosmetic changes and take advantage of the longer barrel with a longer sight radius. Interesting that they deleted the weight that traditionally came with HK Sport Groups and the USP Match though. I would purely speculate that the deletion was because the weight appealed to a very small crowd that had diminished (or HK overestimated that market component) since the Match was released.
Both are really cool with Matches of course valued higher.

I think that makes sense about the weight.

The weight that hk parts (or matchweightDOTcom) sells for the elite does look super slick though, not going to lie. I wonder how much it affects felt recoil.

I have owned: USP45, USP45 Match, USP45 Expert, USP45 Elite
My favorite is the Match. It has all of the benefits of the longer Expert and Elite but none of the drawbacks like not being able to source a holster.
The Elite is a huge gun. It is a range / competition or woods walking with a chest-holster sized firearm.

You found it easier to source a holster for a Match than an Elite? Outside of Tombraider/Hollywood fluff I have never seen another custom or off the shelf Match holster. Don’t know if any USP holsters that will accommodate a 6in barrel plus the weight. Not that the Elite is really any easier. Kind of a custom job for both I think. Not sure where you would carry a Match other than the range maybe?

My USP Elite 9mm was my go-to range gun. It was a pure joy to shoot and run at the range. My USP Expert 9mm hardly saw any use as I had acquired both a week apart from one another. I honestly doubt that I had more than 100 rounds through the Expert. I never did acquire a USP Match. Eventually I will acquire an Expert 9mm again now that I’m back in this again.

I was going to try to post asking about holster options for the usp 45. But it looks like the place they allow you to post about holsters on this site is shut down? ....

I wanted a couple, first, one that would still work/be comfortable when I'm wearing a hunting backpack (and not hurt like hell after an hour of walking).

Then 2, I wanted thumb retention holster options that sit at a height that makes it comfortable to draw an elite.
