VP9 Feature or Flaw? Point blank problem.

Before You try to replicate the issue, please be COMPLETELY sure that the chamber is clear.

So since receiving my VP9 I haven't had as much time to take it out to the range, so most of my time has been spent dryfiring when I have downtime.

I've noticed a strange quirk with the VP9 that I'm not sure whether it is serving a purpose that I am ignorant of, or could be a potential flaw. When the slide is very slightly out of battery, the trigger disconnects and the striker does not engage. Pressed flush up against a surface, hard or soft, is enough to cause it not to fire. For comparison i grabbed everything else I could find to see if pressing up against a surface point blank could move the slide out of battery far enough where it wouldn't fire and did not see the same issue in other pistols (Glocks, USPs, 1911s, and an XDS).

In some strange defense scenario could this technically be an issue? For example, fending off an attacker with the muzzle pressed up against them?

I'm not sure if i'm describing this correctly, but I can try to make a video later of what I am seeing if needed.
