These men WERE Tier 1...they are no longer.

They now live in the game of "content creation", "influencing" in a very f*cked up and over-saturated industry full of cannibals.

Whether what they say is correct or not, y'all clicked that link and fell into the trap.

Aight...I'm just gonna say it.

There should be no complaining about the reset on ANY sub-$1k polymer-framed gun...PERIOD. Much like nobody should have the right to b*tch about food quality at a fast food chain.

If your sh!t is in check, you'll be just fine with it. And if you're deep into the game and super picky, you know damn well what you should be running and willing to manage the expense.

For real. I hit the big 5-0 this year and I asked both my VA doctor and my Tricare agent of Chaos about multivitamins and they said the same thing...if you're maintaining a steady diet that doesn't require mandatory exercise or cholesterol medicine, you're doing just fine without them. "Money down the toilet" was what the VA said.

If you're jerking the trigger and keeping it in the 10 ring or the "A" zone, keep doing whatever you're doing.

The irony is that bankers and plumbers out there grinding and selling training well enough that they get noticed by DoD. The tier 1 guys pluck out the same cats anyone can learn shooting skills from. Grind hard enough and it could be YOU.

I did not watch the video but IMO commenting on a specific firearms reset does not usually mean trash talking unless he mad a big deal about it and if he did I say "follow the money" for his motives.

Oh no! Time to sell my VPs, I guess.

Didn’t watch the video. Honestly would be hard for me to care less what YouTube douches think, regardless of who they were. I shoot the VP9 faster than any of my pistols other than the P7, and with 20 rounds it helps me win. Well, sometimes. And with an upgraded trigger, sights, etc.

Whoever those guys are, it’s likely that there’s some incentive for them to say they like what they say they like and poopoo the competition.

There’s a lot of really informative stuff on YouTube. Looooot of garbage too.

When he got off on the reset on the VP9 , I'm like STFU and go find a job to supplement your retirement .

Y’all realized that these guys are medically retired DevGru SEALs, right?

[emoji28][emoji23][emoji1787]

Y’all tripping! Some of you have way too much ego tied up into your choice of pistol.

If you have heard DJ Shipley's story you would hopefully have more respect for him and his opinion. In the end it's just his opinion but when you have been the tip of the spear for most of your life you probably know more about what is best for killing people than most.
Like I alluded to before: I’d be pretty surprised if his opinion isn’t for hire. Not that I blame him…retirement from the Navy can’t be very lucrative and homies gotta eat.

I saw half that video, and it's nothing more than FYI to me. Sure, ST-6 operators are one of the best shooters on the planet, but it doesn't mean their opinions about a firearm are gospel truth. You decide the pluses and negatives of a firearm on your own, and opinions will vary.

No, but often the culture encourages it. For example, a lot of guys will all get the same tattoo to commemorate things such as a fallen teammate, the end of some high-level training, a certain mission, etc. For some, that may be their first tattoo and then they get the bug.

I’ve met and know and handful of these guys. They are certainly “wired” differently than most of us. I respect and honor what they have done and are currently doing for our country that most of us could never fathom doing. But… that kind of mindset is of a race horse getting ready to be loaded into the starting shoot to start the Kentucky Derby and let loose when the gate opens. I hope they all get the support they need once retirement has come. I know they need it!!
The lucky ones learn how to compartmentalize and find positive outlets to help them "turn it off" so-to-speak. Many unfortunately cannot do that and they often do NOT get the support they need. That's why when I see one of these guys making Youtube content, I give them the benefit of the doubt as it is often their outlet that keeps them from turning to more self-destructive behavior.

Everyone has an opinion and we all can't agree on everything.

I respect the guy and no doubt those guys get a tremendous amount of experience shooting a lot more rounds with excellent training than most could afford. That said, I don’t understand why anyone would put down a platform that they know works for them based on comments like he made. I think you would have to be pretty insecure to do so. I also do not understand why someone would not try a platform based on those comments. Same reason.
That’s his experience/opinion. He prefers other triggers. Noted. Take it or not based on your experience.
Personally, calling a VPs trigger problematic is not my experience. There are better triggers out there and there are other price brackets out there too lol! I have experience with both the VP and the platform he is using in the video. I think they are both excellent and would be hard pressed to say one is “better” or even pick a favorite.
At the end of the day, your (and his) mileage may vary. It would be kind of weird if there was only one opinion on the matter...

Glover is a well known guy, he knows his ****. If people don't know who he is, that's on you. Anyone can watch his videos and learn something unless you were fortunate enough to be in a comparable situation as he was.

HK isn't widely used anywhere in the USA mil/leo. Thats ok, because it isnt always about getting the best equipment if you're part of a government department. They def have dollars and cents on the mind, and one of the luxuries of being a civilian is we get to be choosier.

I don't really believe the vp9 is necessarily better or worse than any other striker fired. It all depends on what you're trying to do, and all too often the gun community wants a gun that is shtf ready but is also a good shooter for ccw like they're gonna turn into Rambo at any given moment after eating an extra large pizza with a large coke.

The benefit of the vp9 is really straight forward, it's an easy shooter, the barrel lasts a very long time because it's similar in design to the p30 barrel and if you're into the paddle release, well there ya go.

The downsides of the vp9 are mostly related to cost, and it is prohibitive for many departments that need a high quantity of them, and since most decent brands are all going to be good enough for pretty much any reasonable situation, the one that is cheaper is going to win. HK is simply too tied to the German government which makes things harder for them in certain markets. Also, if you need to replace a part on a vp9, it's going to be more complicated than on some other firearms.

I think there is too much myth and legend surrounding the equipment in the gun community, very similar to the guitar community... Most guns are fine, focus on your technique (which almost nobody does. Why buy ammo and practice when you can buy more fancy gear?!)

A little louder for those in the back. I've worked in some **** environments and the person will often fail or the circumstances change before the average service gun will fail, that is unless the individual causes said failure.

My Les Paul Custom is still the best guitar ever though.

That had to be the LONGEST Sig P320 commercial I have ever seen. That being said, I have had multiple VP9s and P320s, and I didn't really think one was better shooting than the other. Personally, I prefer the ergos and mag release on the HK, and the trigger (post Sig drop fix) is better on the VP9. I felt my 320 felt a little cheaper because of the grip module, but both are good pieces.

...and nailed it!

I think we can wrap this dumpster fire up. The white knights are here defending their youtube viewing preferences and telling people which boots to lick and who their heroes should be.

And ultimately IGS (the OP) got exactly what he wanted...a 3-ring circus of f*ckery.
