Not trying to get involved between you two, but I have to point out this is patently false. Not sure what definition of modularity you're using to get to that opinion.

His reading skill holds water akin to the way his refutation salad spinner delivers relevance.

Below, a link to my first post wherein are linked two article series (one author) and two videos (another author). Both cover the M14 & G3 as separate topics by treating each rifle with respect.

— Each author has quite a few more articles/videos by which to gauge intent or intelligence. Each has more on the rifles in question (and on how their wider experiential context was formed).

Which one should I keep? (PTR 91 questions)

The OP:

1). Which of these two battle rifles is likeliest to still be in good working order 50-years from now?

2). As the unspoken question is what is meant by “heirloom”, it is with parts and consumables like magazines, which, alone, make those a fair response for discussion.

— Earliest thread responses (and some later) were leavened by knowledge of the personal: the abstractions won’t be as important as maybe the aspect of like or dislike of a rifle.

Those who consistently undercut the G3 even on an HK forum make themselves into the thread topic. The G3 is consistently an alarm clock for trolls and their paycheck: “Hi-ho, hi-ho, it’s off to work I go”.

@American2015 can let us know if he means "battle rifle" as in full power/ non-intermediate cartridge, or "I am going to perform combat operations with this weapon."

Returning to the "Survivalism" angle you had brought up- Post-WWII rifles will certainly perform... but only as about as good as Post-WWII comms, vehicles, etc...

An argument could be made that firearms technology over the last 70 years has advanced more than pushing watts out of an antenna (minus advances in COMSEC) or engines have.
