Okay, here's the thing that you've realized that others have not and it drives me nuts. People keep thinking that they've hacked the system and can buy a MKE and somehow get German HK quality at a third of the price. It is true, MKE has HK tooling. It is true, HK engineers once stood over the shoulders of MKE workers in Turkey and watched them build MP5s. It is true, while HK stood over their shoulders, MKE was capable of making quality products. Is HK currently there helping them? No. Does MKE in Turkey have the same quality standards as HK in Germany? No. I would personally take a US made Zenith MP5 clone over a MKE MP5 clone, but I bought the HK over both of them. The problem is no one is making a HK33 or 53. PTR did very well with their 91 clone and parts kits are out there if you want something more authentic. On the other hand, many countries stuck with the G3 and didn't adopt the 556 HK's and there are very few partis kits out there. From what I've seen, they're also more than 10x more expensive than a G3 parts kit. I'm not going to take this AP53 to fight a war and I won't even put it by my bed as a home defense tool. It'll sit in the safe and come with me to the farm so I can preach HK gospel and rant about the roller delayed blowback system. It doesn't have to be perfect. I'm just happy it exists.
