WTF?

$&*%#@!!!!!!

I have NEVER come across something so utterly effed up than the HK 3 Point Sling. I have spent 30 minutes trying to figure out how to put the #@$^% thing on, and read EVERY thread and EVERY manual excerpt, that have had cartoon illustrations, contradicting terms and/or incomplete pictures of how the $%#@ thing goes on that I am about to lose it.

from everything I can surmise, it is AT LEAST designed around the criteria that it should first and foremost scratch the HELL of of the rifle, with metal-on-metal contact.

DOES ANYONE have COMPLETE photographs available to document for ALL TIME, in ONE THREAD, how this complete catastrophe is supposed to be mounted? Upon reviewing that, I will decide to throw this POS as FAR AS I CAN into a dumpster.

Thanks-

B.

The problem I've been having with the sling on an A3 stock is that it keeps looping in front of my face when I come up on target. When I expect to see my sights, all I see is my sling. The only solution I have found is to keep the sling as tight as I can to help pull it down, but then the sling becomes uncomfortable to use. I've been using a Blackhawk sling that doesn't loop in front of my face, but it's much harder to switch the sling between a fixed stock and an A3 stock since it doesn't have the clip.

The 3 point sling is good for one thing, completing a NIB 91 (with factory accessories). The instructions are as clear as mud.

There's a 3-part series of G36 instructional videos on youtube that included the 3-point sling. A quick search for "g36 instruction video" there turned them up. I haven't watched them in a couple of years though, so can't remember how illuminating they were on the mysteries of that particular piece of equipment.

The HKPRO MP5 class actually has a section dedicated to using the 3 point sling correctly. It is NOT the most intuitive thing out there. But when used correctly, works amazingly well.

Yes, that metal double loop certainly will screw the finish if used in conjunction with the mag well sling clip. Then again, the MP5 was not designed with civilians (or for keeping for years on end in a safe) in mind! Don't use the R3/3 if you want to keep your MP5or clone in pristine condition. Otherwise just shoot the weapon and enjoy it.
By the way, I believe that photo on page one shows incorrect positioning of the double loop, albeit not on an MP5 magwell clip! As far as I know, it's the cross bar of the double loop that is supposed to mate with the magwell (or in the case of the photo handguard) clip.

This pic?

I never noticed this, but it would make sense because the cross bar is at an angle and does not go straight across. Thanks for pointing this out.

Best,

I'll check the videos, thanks, but I ordered another Vickers sling for the times I might take it to the range and leave the finish scraping little b*****d off it and keep it for collection purposes. It would be nice if someone made a copy with polymer SARS ware just to futz around with.
FWIW, I've been toying with using the Vickers sling with a CAR adapter on my 93a3. So it is the most utilitarian setup I have found to date for a 9x's series A3 variant. And I second PSG1's sentiments on the true role for the 3-point sling...tucked away neatly for collector value.

got a link? I tried looking on their websites but couldn't find anything. Open source searches came up empty as well.
