Does anybody know of an available low profile optic mount for my SP5K-PDW? Every vendor is out of stock. I don't want to purchase an HK optic mount since I want the desired capability of co-witnessing with my iron sights.

Red dot sight.

This is in stock I believe. A few individuals here run this setup. You can use an SRO vs an RMR but I don't think the SRO will cowitness like the RMR.

I have an MKE AP5P.

Battle Steel gives me perfect co witness with front sight using a Holosun 509T. They offer a couple different footprints if you want a different optic. Downside is it’s kind of big and I tend to rack my knuckle on the front sharp corner when operating the cocking handle. Planning to round it off with a file /micromesh and either blue the shiny part or maybe even cerakote the whole thing.

Also have perfect co witness with the Shield SMS optic on the Shield HK mount. This one is sized really small which is nice but it’s also basically impossible to put on and take off. I literally had to dremel one leg off to remove it in order to photo the serial number for Form 1.

I've been reading an Atlantic did a video that there is a lot of work, ie: filing and positioning the sight base on the AP 5, was this the case for you and how do you like the mount...???

I just received a quote from Europtics. Trijicon 1.0 Adj Red RMR Type 2 RM09-C-700742 for $440.00, a R-302-Spuhr Spuhr MP5 Lightweight Top Rail R-302 for $198.00 and RM33 Trijicon RM33 Low Picatinny Rail Mount for RMR for $85.00. Europtics also suggested a AC32078-Trijicon Trijicon RMR 45 Degree Offset Quick Release Mount AC32078 for $162.00 whihc would be 45 degrees offset so that I could utilize my sight irons as the primary sights and then cantilever 45 degrees offset of the RMR.

What at your thoughts to a 45 degree offset for the Trijicon Red Dot RMR? Or should I mount the RMR at 12 o'clock to co-witness with the iron sights? Please advise.

Europtic has another clone website of it self called scopelist. You can make offers on items. I’ve saved some by doing such, saved 100 dollars on my S&B over anywhere else.

12 o'clock it is. Personally, I would think the look would be ugly. But my main concern is accuracy, reliability and co-witnessing. Or using the iron sights as my primary and the 45 degree offset as my RMR as secondary since everyone should know how to use the irons when the battery goes down and out. Or it gets knocked out of alignment.

I’d go with a quik detach mount then, batteries go down rip it off and roll irons. 45 degree mounts to me atleast have a different purpose than back up sights. Good for using to find targets and then move up to your magnified optic, cqb targets when your primary is close, and canted shooting due to terrain or obstacles. Running irons with offset optics feels wrong to me atleast, mind as well run irons with off set irons.

Anyone ran an adapter plate for an Aimpoint Micro on the sms mount?
There's one on Midway. Could be a way to mount a t2/h2 without using the usual claw mounts.

I like Kinetic Development’s low profile with an ACRO on my B&T and it’s absolute cowitness, but prefer Scalarworks LEAP on my SP5 SBR, as i usually run it with a fat MK-9K Gemtech, so I prefer to be up and over the receiver. A3 stock is for show; much prefer an A2. I just picked up a 5KP which is going form 1, so no need for a red dot yet. I do plan to look into it, but am waiting for Eotech’s new EFLX to commercialize. You can change between 3 & 6 moa, purportedly has a wider window like an SRO, but in a similar footprint of an RMR for under $400. EOTECH EFLX Mini Red Dot Sight I cant see myself pulling my rear sight, so will watch what other options come to market this winter.

Elvis’ boy raised a good point regarding the rear sight mount in that the FoV and front post do line up to a degree in a pinch, should the red dot go down. It’s a good point given I’d never expect a need for a range exceeding 25yrs given the intended use. I do like the idea of the Infitech but would prefer an RMR “type” sight pattern vs ACRO to keep it tight. Hopefully a RMR footplate design will surface soon from them.

The KD mount has a solid lockup and I can push it more forward due to the closed bolt, non-recip/ambi controls on the APCK, but haven't tried It on the HK yet, sans a can. I just figured it would inhibit quick reloads due to how far I prefer my optic. I tried a few configurations until I came up with what works best for me and how I intend to use most often. Lots of great input within this post.

KD options here. SIDELOK - RMR LOW PROFILE MOUNT - BLACK - Kinetic Development Group LLC

PM me if you want to try it before you commit to something. The low profile mount‘s height from top of Picatinny Rail is .659″
