Please, feel free to Vent or Bragg about yours.

I would like to get a good review and pictures showing issues or lack there of thread going. Showing current Century import MKE MP5's. So we can get an idea of what MKE is producing currently. Function, Fit & Finish.

ETA:
I'm more interested in Documenting the Quality of what MKE is putting out. I am asking people to Document any issues they have had in Function, Fit & Finish.

However not only issues. If you received an example the has ran 100% right out of the box with all ammo and no break in period. Let's Document that also.Trying to get a Guage on the Quality Control of current MKE MP5's

Not really asking for a blinged out photo thread. Showing individual Flair & customization. Asking more for photos showing finish, welds, stamping, machining, Etc.

UPDATE 02/24/2023

It seems without firing it yet that I received a very nice sample. The trunnion spot weld is as clean as I've seen. Everything looks straight. Clean machining, welds and markings. Finish is good with a couple of scuffs not into the metal. I would say the Magwell is perfect new parkerized MKE mags slide in smoothly with only the slightest miniscule front to back movement at the bottom of the mag once inserted. The bore and chamber are like a mirror. Will follow-up once I get some rounds through it.

There's a big clone pic/discussion thread already

I've got an AP5P with all the fixings you can see on the last page of that thread, one of the most fun guns in my collection and always comes with to the range
I had a few FTE's early on, fed it a steady diet of 124gr nato and now it runs mostly 147gr suppressed like a sewing machine
Yeah,

I h
Why are we talking about MKE quality again? It's good, fit and finish are good and it shoots very nicely. We don't really need to keep revisiting this every month. I'm sorry if my comments are off putting, but really, another amateur statistician thread is just boring and represents the continual (and imaginary feelings of inferiority that no one should have.

Another part of that is the "replace with HK parts" myth. It wasn't promoted by MKE owners. And how do you know MKE parts wouldn't have worked just as well.

Anyway, I am sure someone is thinking I should just skip it if I am not interested and that's what I am now going to do. See you next week in the next one.
I have a MKE MP5 Clone on order. This thread has already given me good information on what to expect from future MKE MP5 Clones.

Thank you, to those of you who came and contributed your honest information. Along with solutions you have found. I am sure having a large sample of data on QC from MKE will be beneficial for others in the future as well.

Thanks again, and please keep the information coming.

As of 3-4-23 at 330 rounds fired.

Popped her cherry today with 240 rounds. 160 rounds of 124gr Sellier & Bellot, and 50 rounds of 115gr Norma. Then to check hollow point function 30 rounds 150gr Federal HST. FLAWLESSLY fired 239 rounds. The last round in the mag and the last round of the day failed to chamber. A Federal HST 150gr. Droping the mag and locking the charging handle to the rear. Dropped the round out the magwell. Reinserted it in the mag and slapped the bolt release and the round fed in smoothly.

Only a guess on the last round issue. However I believe that a combination of the reduced spring tension being the last round in the mag and the somewhat large hollow point resulted in the failure. Combining what I also believe that the 150gr HST's are on the weeker side. For control ability in micro pistols. Caused the bolt to not come back far enough to get a full momentum run before stripping the last round.

In short, I believe it will reliably feed stronger hollow points and the magazines may benefit from a stronger spring. All magazines were Factory MKE.

ETA:
IT appears my guess on the last round failure is likely incorrect. I found this in another forums archived post.

"I will also actually add something of value to this thread by saying my MKE Z5RS will also do this on the last round of some flat nosed 147's, 158's, and 165's as well as some round nosed ammo as well. While I initially thought it may have been mag related, I've used any number of combinations of HK original mags, KCI mags, MKE mags, wolff XP springs, etc and never fully resolved the issue."

Note it appears to be a last round ammo specific issue. This leads me to believe it has something to due with the follower and specific ammo's. So this may be mitigated by loading a known reliable last round feeding ammo into the magazine first.

So all in all, it was a great day. Excellent accuracy shooting in the pistol form without a brace or sling at 20 yards. Putting my wrist against my chin I was able to get 30 rounds in a 4" groups with the central mass a large ragged whole at this distance. I can only imagine what one could achieve with a stock.

Before shooting thoroughly cleaned and lubed with Militech fully synthetic grease. On all the friction points from the rollers inside the head back to the carrier rails. Then shoot the **** out of it.

After 240 rounds. Talk about ****ing where you eat.

Those of you with ap5-p running them suppressed, first is the factory locking piece 100 or 120 degree? Have you switched it out to a different one to run suppressed a majority of the time?
You want more resistance to slow things down to decrease wear. So you would want to try 80 suppressed. If your gun will run on an 80 reliably with the ammo you shoot. That prolongs part life.

Received the AP5 that was ordered through Gun Prime. It shipped from Sport South in Louisiana. It appears to be another fine example from MKE.

Everything looks straight with nice welds. This one had a buttery smooth action right out of the box. This magazine well has a bit more front to back movement than the AP5-P I received. The lower on this one also has the punched dent in the metal plate at the front of the grip frame. Where the trigger group butts up to the front. The AP5-P doesn't.

The Bolt Gap measures. 016"
Also oddly the Flutes appear wide in the AP5 than the AP5-P I received.

Will report on function once I get a chance to stretch her legs a bit.
