I have not been on here in a long time so I apologize if you all already know this but I confirmed today at AUSA that the MR556A4 will be announced next month as one of the three new HKs.
ETA is 4 to 6 months depending on current political climate can change that. So, does anyone or have a release date for the new mr556a4?
Will it require a tool for disassembly like the A1 did?ETA is 4 to 6 months depending on current political climate can change that.
In the video it seems to use normal takedown pins (thank goodness)Will it require a tool for disassembly like the A1 did?
cause sig and sighow in the earth I choose this over a spear lt?
The barrel is made in germany I don't think HK USA has a say on thatThe wild thing here is that if HK USA just simply decided to do chrome lining
that's been known for a whileDID NOBODY CATCH THAT JAMES SAID US PRODUCTION OF CIVILIAN MP7!?

Rear takedown lug will be the one currently used on MR223 and A5 version of the 416, with a little spring loaded detent reducing play between the upper and the lower. Will it require a tool for disassembly like the A1 did?
Yuma Sept. 2003. I took this photo. I was a snot nosed employee of HK USA as the web services coordinator.Yes, there are certainly tools where 2MOA+ is acceptable.

Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
As somebody who’s seen the Spear LT assembly line, I would not run that gun for work if somebody gave it to me. Just as none of the sig assemblers that I know do.So... 4k rifle, heavy as **** (the 416 with the thin barrel is already heavy, why add other weight?) stupid thick barrel and not chrome lined or nitrate, no quick detachable handguard (still 1913 rail on on both side is so old style) the grip is different from v4 hk 416 a8... somebody can explain the 4k price tag?
how in the earth I choose this over a spear lt?
Agreed. I couldn't get rid of the spear fast enough. Extremely front heavy. Torx screws to hold in the barrel. I could shift the barrel over 1/2" in either direction with a minor push. Even after correcting the torx spec, which was wrong out of the factory by a considerable amount, I was turned off. Flushing toilet soundsAs somebody who’s seen the Spear LT assembly line, I would not run that gun for work if somebody gave it to me. Just as none of the sig assemblers that I know do.
SIG’s quality control is crap. See elsewhere here for a gun fight where several MCX rifles sh!t the bed during a hostage rescue gunfight. As somebody who’s seen the Spear LT assembly line, I would not run that gun for work if somebody gave it to me. Just as none of the sig assemblers that I know do.
Took 7 years for the CC9 to get sorted out. The MR556 A4 is 15 years behind the A1. It my understanding that the MP7 only got seriously investigated within the last 2 years. Just saying, on the chance it occurs, expect a heck of a wait.DID NOBODY CATCH THAT JAMES SAID US PRODUCTION OF CIVILIAN MP7!?
An out of torque spec barrel from the factory is absolutely hilarious and exactly what I’d expect.Agreed. I couldn't get rid of the spear fast enough. Extremely front heavy. If you don't think HK or HKUSA did extensive market research on features the general public wants, and if you think the lack of a CL barrel will tank the sales of this.....I gotta chuckle.
Not to mention the handguard will not hold zero on the spear L without an Arisaka Defense rail clamp and the Spear Heavy can’t be fixed at all. Typical ExeTurd behavior.SIG’s quality control is crap.
