I’m buying one or more either way, idc about the chrome lined barrel. If I want, I’ll have the barrel chrome lined or nitrided myself.

I am curious though. What’s the real reason HK USA didn’t chrome line them when they know that almost everybody wanted it?

Was it cost?

Did HKO tell them they weren’t allowed to?

Clearly it’s not because HK USA believed the 11” version to be a real match rifle.

My 11” barrel is chrome lined 😁🇩🇪 View attachment 447987
Which brings me to my next point......how about those 416 uppers now? Just like the stock market. LOL.

Gotcha so literally the opposite of everything everyone was asking for. Please don't dismiss my disappointment as irrelevant because you know that's not the case.
It’s not reasonable for a company to manufacture a gun that is readily convertible to full automatic, especially when it’s not legal to do so. ATF had a say in this too.

If they made it so all you had to do was put in a three position selector, and it was rock ‘n’ roll time via slam fire or a DIAS, they would veto the design.

Why do you feel like that’s a valid complaint?

I have no illusion James is doing his job. Those who A) live under your roof or B) pay your bills always have a say. Honestly I'm 95% sure James has me on his ignore list anyways.
I understand you, German, Tom likely are bound to certain points of view that many of the basic membership here are not.

As I have said here to one of the other mods,
In working with "average Americans" it's very clear they absolutely HATE being told what they do/don't need. It's a visceral reaction...no matter how good the argument. You can convince them easily they lack a capability or can do something easier...but it's dangerous to mess with "the heart wants what it wants".
I don't blame a person or entity if they don't want to play to that dynamic, but I also don't hold any sympathy if they choose to ignore it.
I am not beholden to any kind of point of view, but it is my innate defense of the company because I love the brand.

Does the fact that I am welcome in Oberndorf cloud my view? Possibly, but my preferences line up with the company pretty naturally.

HK was never going to eliminate the full-auto denial features. They’re required in Germany, where the bolt carrier groups are manufactured, and I doubt we want U.S. manufactured bolt carrier groups.

I don’t dismiss your disappointment, but I’d encourage you to reflect on it and ask yourself what value sharing it here adds to this conversation.

I do apologize if I have come across that way.
The multiple posters that seem like a lot of whining is probably showing the sourness.
It’s not just you; it’s a wave of negativity from many people, fixating on a single drawback while overlooking all the positive developments.

I agree with that. I’m certainly not trying to justify HK USA’s position; I’m just pointing out that lamenting over it endlessly on this forum isn’t going to change their minds. What’s the saying? “You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.”

So every other manufacturers AR15 is illegal.
Seriously 😒

I do like how now people defend hk USA because we can’t shoot, abuse the rifle like a real “operator” or afford it.
If thats the defense why buy HK at all buy PSA and hang it on the wall. Why use the no compromise slogan at all.
Why tell the consumer base the CC9 took 8 years of development to perfect it.

Who said you can’t abuse it like a real operator?
Standard HK development time is 5 to 8 years for every gun. You prefer that to be a secret? It explains the lag.

That’s not what he said at all. AR-15s aren’t built with M16 fire control pockets; they have denial islands and internal shelves specifically designed to prevent easy conversion to full-auto. HK USA imports bolt carrier groups from Germany, where they’re manufactured alongside MR223 carriers. German law requires these carriers to be non-full-auto and to include a full-auto denial tab on the barrel extension, along with a corresponding relief cut on the bolt carrier group. I doubt anyone wants U.S.-made bolt carrier groups, I know I don’t. So yes, you end up with a rifle that isn’t easily convertible to full-auto.

I have a binary trigger its legal and I can shoot trash real fast. lol
Why do I have to justify standard US features.
Lol with this thought process why even be into firearms.
Then do what it takes to make it work. You’re seriously on here whining about why the gun isn’t available ready for you to drop your toy in.

The barrel is made in the USA why does it have this denial tab. Leave it off.
