At $1795, how will this compare to Zenith and Century Arms? Have you all been asking for this?

Have you all been asking for this?
Nobody has been asking for an "American MP5."

Nobody has been asking for an "American AKM."

POF is back in the market now too... plus MKE... PLUS, ALSO the legitimate article.

Outside of an SD, there is no reason for any of this stuff. It's all wasted effort- until the day that imports are cut off.

Choice and competition are good things
These are also the cheapest host guns available

Nobody? Yeah, ok. When I was gonna get into an HK MP5, late 2017, you could find them new for $1950 plus shipping. Unfortunately the house needed a new roof and $20K later I had to rebuild my gun fund. 10 months later because they are in demand I’m supposed to pay 2900.00+ - NOPE. Let me say that again - NOPE.

i shoot all my guns, not interested in setting up a safe queen with all the goodies to sell off to the next guy to shoot it! Love my PTR-9CT, runs great out of the box after a spring change. And I love the rail, saved me money, time and effort, red dots easily cowitness if you like that kind of thing. For the 6-8 times a year I get to shoot, my PTR scratches the itch just fine.

A guy at my range has a POF, put a lot of money in it to make it run, his words not mine. By the way, he liked my trigger better! Lots of threads here about folks having issues with everything from POF to MKE to PTR and even the revered HK, they all make guns that have issues……

Love my HKs, you should be glad that there are other makers in the market, should keep the pricing more in line with reality, American made or not.

Besides, all HK fans ( myself included ) for all selections are one law away from never seeing another German product again, the German government does not like them exporting arms, period, let alone to civilians in any country - when that happens, and HK makes them here, will an American MP5 be all that then…………learned a long time ago, don’t speak for others, when you do you are more than likely going to be wrong.

9CTs seem to work just fine. In my experience this sentiment is shared by everyone I can think of who actually owns and shoots them on this forum or elsewhere. Ymmv
I would also prefer a rail on a shooter but many have asked for the original lines so here you go...PTR was being responsive to a demand. Good on them.
I also think the 9CT are at least as good as the other clones. I don’t think any of the clones are clearly better than the PTR and none are up to the SP5 because they aren’t “F” variants, even if their QC was on par with HKs which I doubt. PTRs don’t seem to have the issues with properly aligned cocking tubes for one thing. They also hit a price point (well stated in this thread) some might pay versus the HK product.
For the price, the 9CT is a quality clone IMO.

I already own a PTR 9CT and a 9KT - both of which are SBR'd and both run great. So, I also plan to pick this one up just to have the classic lines. I've also owned two MKEs (first was a 2015 Zenith import and second a 2017 Zenith import). I loved both of the guns and they too, ran amazingly. Many people say the MKE and POF offerings are better due to the HK licensing and HK tooling (although it's older tooling) and that the guns will be "true to spec". Those are valid points, but, I have never had an issue with German or US made MP5 parts fitting the two PTRs I own. The final reason I am excited PTR is finally releasing it, is due to the current global political climate and the US economy, I'm choosing to keep my money here and buy US made. I've already messaged Atlantic Firearms on here, since they will hopefully be getting the first batches of these once they become available. I'd love to be among the first to get my hands on one for review purposes and posting to my Youtube Channel.

From that PTR marketing flyer: “The gun ships in a classic corrugated box, making it range-ready with a single point bungee sling…”

Since when did a corrugated box make a gun range-ready? At a minimum they need an editor. Hope the build quality is better than the marketing materials.

Yes, people want an American MP5.

Century is likely going to mangle their AP5s with the now mismanaged MKE factory in your inevitable warranty claims.
HKs will remain relatively elusive and do need some 922r parts to comply if you want to SBR + other import features they employed are a little distasteful.

I bet a lot of you folks were on the fence with the 9CTs but wouldn't budge because of the top rail and handguard scenario.
Now you have an FA host with 100% US parts to boot with the addition of a lifetime warranty like HK, ALL on a domestic clone without any weird features like on the 9CT.
Also uses pretty much the most common shelved cut for trigger packs.

9CT works for me as a shooter. Eats 115 steel, 124, 147 hp, 165 ss, even some re-man. HK, KCI, ETS mags fit and run reliably. And I prefer the convenience of the rail. Fit, finish, welds are solid. Decent trigger broken in.

The Turk and Paki guns at current price points are the most economic option now for those willing to chance.

I’m still patiently waiting (indefinitely perhaps) for an SP5K-PDW below MSRP. But it’s less of a shiny object now.

The wild charm really wore off and it's a waiting game at this point. There are a lot of MP5 fans that are not necessarily even HK fans buying these up and we have to let them get their energy out.

Counterfeit. I like it, mine runs great, only had to change a bad extractor spring. Nice to know the US can “steal” from other countries and build a nice unit With a lifetime warranty and ready for any type of action right out of the box…….. I no longer have a clone, a copy or just an MP5, I have a counterfeit, I like it!

We had one at work. The model that looked like the HK94. Visually, it looked real nice, but it was NIB, so I don’t know how it shot. My boss was selling it at his cost which he said was $1600, as he’s retiring, & trying to slim down his inventory. Real nice looking. GARY.
