First time silencer purchaser and looking at the Omega 9k for my SP5 it’s minimalist size and weight, any other options that offer similar advantages worth looking at?

I would like to ideally be able to shoot without hearing protection, and the Omega 9 seems to meet that but wasn’t sure if I should look at other options.

Many thanks//

Thanks very much. Silencer Shop is OOS on them and I thought to purchase through SS for convenience of their efile kiosk service linked through my dealer.

Is it possible to purchase through a stocking dealer and still have silencer shop help with the tax stamp service and have it shipped to my dealer for the wait?

Yes, I do it all the time at my local "powered by" dealer. You buy it through the stocking dealer and they will Form 3 it to your dealer. Your dealer will input the info into the SS system and then you proceed just like it was a SS purchase for the Form 4.

However, your dealer may charge you additional fees (storage, "handling", etc...) that are covered by SS when buying from SS.

My local dealer charges $100 for an out of SS network purchase.

I love my Omega 9ks and shoot them all the time with no hearing pro on my Mac 11/9. I only use 158gr Fiocchi when I do it though to get the best performance out of the K can. It's a must with no hearing pro.

The better option might be the new Wolfman that you can have the best of both worlds. The Wolfman's K config is slightly longer than the Omega 9k but suppose to pack a much better tone and suppression.

My new absolute favorite sub gun can is my GSL Phoenix. The lower tone and suppression is absolutely beautiful to shoot with no hearing pro. Might be too large for what you want though. It's a 9k on steroids.

Here is a vid of me shooting the Phoenix and then the Wolfman back to back from this past weekend.

The Omega 9K runs very nicely on my SP5. 147gr ammo makes it sounds like a paintball gun.

Just remember that a can gets really hot. It is deceiving, like touching scorching hot metal that has just been welded. Buy a wrap for the can or use an oven mitt to handle it when you remove it. Sounds silly, but third degree burns will result after a mag dump if you grab the can bare handed.

As an owner of a 9k, personally I think you would be making a mistake if you did not also consider a 45 suppressor which you could also use on your 9mm. I probably should have just gone with the 45k, although I really like my 9k

The Omega 45k is quite similar. The extra 1.5 inches in length and 3 ounces in weight is nothing really, and unless you need to be going through doors with it or in and out of a vehicle, you will likely never know the difference.

In addition, might save you needing or wanting to buy a 45 model down the road, they ain’t cheap as you know.

Another interesting "fatty" option is the B&T MP9/TP9 suppressor w/ the B&T 3-lug conversion adapter kit. Suppressor runs about $1k + another $150 for the 3-lug mount. I have no experience with that setup, but think it looks pretty good on the TP9. I'm trying to order one for my recently acquired TP9-N, but can't seem to find it in stock anywhere at the moment. If I end up getting it, I'll probably pick up the 3-lug conversion just to experiment on the SP5 as well.
